John, Henry & Charles Lias
John was the father of Henry and Charles and registered marks alone and in partnership with Henry and then with both his sons. The first mark registered to all three was in 1828 the fourth in 1833. By 1837 Charles was registering his own mark but John and Henry were still in partnership in 1839.
Makers Mark Poorly Struck or old
These fiddle pattern tongs are completely plain except for a single C monogram on the bow. They are fairly substantial and weigh 1 1/2 ounces and are 5 3/4 inches long. They are fully hallmarked for London 1835 and have no damage or repairs
